Iran Nuclear Reactors Upgraded Plutonium Enrichment Moves
Forward For Nukes
If
you research all the news archives ....
it appears that Iran already has at least one nuclear bomb.
Iran
admitted to producing more than 4,500 kilograms of enriched uranium
since 2007, almost enough to make four nuclear
weapons.
The Institute for Science and International Security says that it only takes
about 6 months to upgrade 20% enriched uranium to bomb-grade level using
500-1,000 centrifuges. Once there is enough bomb-grade uranium, it takes
approximately one year for a bomb to be assembled. 5/31/2010 -
The International Atomic Energy
Agency reports
that Iran has amassed more than two tons of enriched uranium enough for two
nuclear warheads.
Iran is under four sets of U.N. Security Council sanctions for
not mothballing a program that can make both nuclear fuel or fissile warhead
material. It has rapidly expanded such activities since they were
discovered in 2002, and concerns have grown as the country has refused
to let the IAEA probe growing intelligence-based allegations that it is
working on a nuclear warhead and other aspects of a weapons program.
Tehran insists, however, it is only interested in nuclear power,
not weapons.
11/19/2011 Iran - The possibility of a military strike on Iran heats up.
The Islamic Republic News Agency reported that the Iranian army launched
a four day heightened air defense level alert. The air defense drill
simulated an attack on the country's nuclear facilities. The International
Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report said Tehran has been working toward
building a nuclear weapon since 2003 despite sanctions imposed by the
international community. Israel recently test-launched a ballistic missile
and conducted an aerial drill in Italy with the participation of IDF fighter
pilots. The IDF also held a home front drill simulating a missile attack on
the greater Tel Aviv area – a realistic scenario in case of an attack on
Iran's nuclear sites.
11/8/2011 - The UN’s nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy
Agency,
said that Iran has sought to design a nuclear warhead and was
researching nuclear weapons as recently as 2010, citing “credible”
intelligence from more than 10 countries. The IAEA wrote a 25-page report
saying the Iranian program has “carried out activities” that would lead “to
the development of nuclear explosive device.” Media reports said that the
U.S., Britain and France said they could call for new sanctions, while
Russia and Iran criticized the report. Israel has called on the world to
stop the Iranian program and Defense Minister Ehud Barak was quoted as
making indirect reference to possible military action if sanctions aren’t
enough.
11/2/2011-
UK military steps up plans for Iran attack
amid fresh nuclear fears. British officials consider contingency options
to back up a possible US action as fears mount over Tehran's capability.
Iran had proved "surprisingly resilient" in the face of sanctions, and
sophisticated attempts by the west to cripple its nuclear enrichment program
had been less successful than first thought.

Israel's prime minister orders investigation into alleged leaks of plans to
attack Iran's nuclear facilities
Israel has repeatedly said it hopes economic sanctions will persuade
Iran to halt its nuclear program. Israeli diplomats have been lobbying the
international community for tougher sanctions.
11/3/2011 Western intelligence officials
estimate that Iran is still at
least two to three years away from obtaining a nuclear bomb.

China built an entire missile plant in Iran in 2010 to
produce the Nasr-1 anti-ship cruise missile. “Because of the relatively
short range of the missiles, China does not violate the Iran, North Korea
and Syria Nonproliferation Act of 2006, which seeks to prevent the transfer
of only those missiles that can carry a 500-kilogram warhead more than 190
miles.”
7/19/2011 - The French Foreign Ministry condemned the Iranian government's
announcement that it was installing a new generation of centrifuges in its
nuclear facilities, describing it as "a new wave of provocation" that
flouts United Nations resolutions.
"This is yet another violation of the six Security Council resolutions
and the 10 IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) Board of Governors
resolutions," the ministry said in a statement. "On top of the announcements
that it plans to triple the production of uranium enriched to 20%, it
clearly confirms the suspicions of the IAEA and the international community
regarding the purpose of a program without any credible civilian objective."
Iran test fired 14 missiles on 6/27 with a 1,200 mile range capable
of hitting Israeli and US installations. Iran also unveiled underground
missile silos that the West suspects are for launching nuclear warheads.
6/15/2011 - Iran launched a satellite into earth orbit
that raised concerns about Iran's intentions and nuclear development
program. This is the 2nd satellite Iran put into orbit. The first was
launched in 2009. Iran is also frequently testing missiles capable of
reaching Israel, U.S. bases in the Gulf and parts of southeast Europe.

Iranian warships - the 1,500-ton patrol frigate Alvand and the 33,000-ton support
ship Khark are berthing in Syria near Lebanon, whose Hezbollah movement, an
Iran ally, fought a war with Israel in 2006. They are armed with torpedoes,
anti-ship missiles and helicopters. Previously, warships of

Iran's nuclear power plant. Obama previously diluted
Washington's original plans to build a missile defense shield around
facilities in Poland and the Czech Republic because of Russian
opposition. Russia wants "red button" rights to a new US-backed missile defense system
for Europe. It would allow Russia to influence the shield's day-to-day
operational use. They threatened to beef up their own nuclear forces if it
is excluded or granted only a junior role in the project. The
U.S. Defense Secretary, tried to pacify the Kremlin by offering to
share information about the system and offering to build a joint data
centre. But Russian government officials have since made it clear that
such a compromise does not go far enough
