Al Qaeda Terrorists Behead American Civilian Hostage Paul Johnson in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia - An al Qaida group said it killed American hostage Paul M. Johnson Jr. The statement was posted on a Web site where the radical muslim group frequently makes announcements. An internet site showed photographs of Johnsons beheaded body. The photos posted with the statement showed a severed head, placed on the back of a body. The body was wearing an orange jumpsuit and the face was turned toward the camera.

The message, in the name of Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, appeared after a 72-hour deadline set by the group ended.

"In answer to what we promised ... to kill the hostage Paul Marshall (Johnson) after the period is over ... the infidel got his fair treatment," the statement said.

"Let him taste something of what Muslims have long tasted from Apache helicopter fire and missiles," the statement said.

Johnson, who worked on Apache helicopter systems for Lockheed Martin, was kidnapped by militants who threatened to kill him if the kingdom did not release its al-Qaida prisoners. The Saudi government rejected the demands.

The day Johnson was seized, Islamic militants shot dead Kenneth Scroggs, from Laconia, N.H., in his garage. Scroggs, who also worked for Lockheed Martin, was killed days after another American was slain in an escalating al-Qaida campaign against Westerners in the kingdom.

Johnson was the second American abducted and brutally murdered by his kidnappers in the Middle East in just over a month.

Nicholas Berg, a businessman, was beheaded in Iraq, and his last moments later appeared on a videotape posted on an al-Qaida-linked Web site. U.S. officials say al-Qaida-linked Muslim militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi may have been Berg's killer.

As the deadline approached, Saudi security forces launched an all-out search, going door-to-door in some Riyadh neighborhoods, as Johnson's wife went on Al-Arabiya television pleading for his release.

The religious fanantical cowards cover their faces and often disquise themselves with womens clothing. They prove they are not religious when they say "Allah is Great". Allah should strike them dead. Their twisted minds and brutal actions demonstrate their true mentality. Moderate Muslims should help root out the terrorists hiding within their areas. Moderate Muslims should speak out loudly and often or they may suffer by their own silence and the ignorance of others.

Saudi security officials report that the leader of al-Qaida in Saudi Arabia was killed in a raid, hours after his group claimed the beheading of an American engineer. A U.S. official confirmed that al-Moqrin has been killed.

To establish identities, one Saudi official said forensic tests would be conducted on three bodies of militants killed in a shootout in a downtown neighborhood shortly after the discovery of Paul M. Johnson Jr.'s body.

The killing of Abdulaziz al-Moqrin, 31, would be a coup for the Saudi goverment, which has been under intense pressure to halt a wave of attacks against Westerners in the kingdom.

The Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya satellite station, which first reported al-Moqrin's death, said two other militants were also killed in the raid, and another was wounded and arrested. All three dead militants were on Saudi Arabia's list of most wanted men, security officials said. Two suspects escaped said one Saudi security official who took part in the raid
