Candice Miller is running for a seat on the U.S.
House of Representatives Web site http://www.candicemiller.com
This is part of Candice Millers' platform in
her own words.
Every Election Day, non-citizens infringe on the right to proper and proportional
representation for American Citizens due to the wording of the 14th Amendment which
states, "Representatives shall be apportioned among the several states according to
their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each state..."
The fact that we count illegal aliens when apportioning Congressional districts,
we are giving states an incentive to harbor those aliens. The more aliens you allow to
live within your borders; the more seats you can secure in Congress.
H. J. Res. 53 would correct this egregious error by replacing the word "persons"
with the word "citizens." This course of action would ensure that all states are
allotted their correct representation based upon the number of citizens that reside in
each state By supporting H. J. Res. 53, you would be voting in favor of the democratic
ideal of one citizen = one vote.
According to the United States Census Bureau, there were an estimated 8.7 illegal
immigrants in the United States in 2002. This number has surely risen over 9 million by
today. In fact, it is believed that 700,000 to 800,000 illegal immigrants enter America
EVERY year. This means as many as 2,200 illegals enter America EVERY day.
As a result of this, American taxpayers are saddled with over
$25 billion worth of costs. But these are only the costs that can be measured monetarily.
There are many other ways that illegals and other non-citizens affect the American way of
life.

If you believe in equal representation for American citizens, I urge you to cosponsor H.
J. Res. 53 and correct the counting of non-citizens for Congressional apportionment.
