Is Obama giving Iran the time it needs to build
a nuclear bomb
May 18, 2009 - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the White
House to describe it's position on Iran. During the
Video News conference
Obama would not look directly at Netanyahu, while Netanyahu stared directly
at Obama during his remarks such as, "We should have a fairly good sense by
the end of the year as to whether the Iranians are moving in the right
direction."
The only problem with Obama's wimpy approach to one of the most pressing
security issue of the modern age is that, come the end of the year, Iran's
development of a nuclear weapon will be completed.
The U.S. responded by saying Iran must choose between destabilizing the
Middle East or accepting President Barack Obama's offer of dialogue. Obama
said earlier this week that Iran could face further international sanctions
if it does not respond positively by year-end to U.S. attempts to open
negotiations on its nuclear program.
According to intelligence estimates, Iran will by the end of this year have
sufficient quantities of low-enriched uranium (LEU) to build a nuclear
warhead.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he is ready to resume peace
talks with the Palestinians immediately.
Obama pressed a two-state solution to the Middle East conflict but failed to
win a commitment from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to back
Palestinian statehood.
In their first White House talks, Obama also urged Netanyahu to freeze
Jewish settlement building
Netanyahu, who heads a new right-leaning Israeli coalition, reiterated that
he supported self-government for the Palestinians but made no mention of a
state, a position underscoring a rare rift in U.S.-Israeli relations.
"I did not say two states for two peoples," Netanyahu said later at a solo
briefing with reporters.
"We need to deliberate to clarify this. Does it mean a Hamas state? I hope
not. So how do I ensure it's not a Hamas state, an entity that threatens
Israel security? I think that's a fundamental question," Netanyahu said.
Hamas Islamists, who have rejected Western calls to recognize Israel,
renounce violence and accept existing interim peace accords, took control of
the Gaza Strip in 2007, leaving Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas
governing essentially only in the West Bank.

Obama makes statements about Iran that contain no substance. The liberal
main street media shields him by omitting serious questioning about his
hollow statements. Conservative Radio Talk Shows and the Internet are the
only real journalists. Obama said, "The important thing is to make sure
there is a clear timetable, at which we point we say these talks don't seem
to be making any serious progress," "By the end of the year we should have
some sense whether or not these discussions are starting to yield
significant benefits on the part of Iranians." Obama did not say and was not
asked about what steps he expected Iran to take to show its good faith in
any negotiations with Washington. Obama in essence said he is giving Iran -
till the end of 2009 or another 7 months to continue it's nuclear program.)
May 20, 2009 - Iran test-fired an upgraded surface-to-surface missile
capable of striking Israel, Europe and U.S. bases in the Middle East.
According to a new poll of Israelis, just 31 percent think Obama is
pro-Israel. Bush’s numbers during his presidency: 88 percent.
