KEVIN SITES NBC News Reporter - Terrorist Sympathizer,
Seditionist, Traitor or just dumb liberal ass?
NBC News reporter Kevin Sites was awarded Al-Jazeera's Best News Video Award for 2004.
Sites insisted that there are many reporters who deserve the recognition, and that he just
"happened to be in the right place at the right time." Mr. Sites chalked it up
to "dumb luck" that he was able to record a U.S. Marine shooting a captured
terrorist in a mosque.
"I'm no hero," Mr. Sites said. "The real heroes are the executives at NBC
News who had the guts to show my video over and over, even after all the heat they took
for refusing to show footage of terrorists beheading innocent American civilians. I think
that speaks volumes about their character and professionalism."
An Al-Jazeera spokesman said Mr. Sites and NBC have used their art to
"advance the cause of freedom in a fashion reminiscent of Michael Moore."

your own minds about whether you think what I did was right or wrong.

Hey "Ben Franklin" How about the rule that says you are not to shoot from a
mosque. Or use children as shields. Or kidnap innocent civilians (or reporters for that
matter) and cut off their heads. Or surrender and then shoot those you are surrendering
to. Or Booby trap wounded and dead bodies. Did you read that part of the Geneva
Convention? How about if you want to be recognized as a soldier,Put on a freakin uniform
and act like one. these guys are criminals not soldiers. and they get what they get. As
for this photographer, his daady probably gave him his first Nikon and he figured 'what
the hey, it beats workin'. my opinion of him is already stated. Now I find out that he's
not a photographer. Most Photographers have scruples. He is a pacifist with a camera. Love

NBC Imbedded Pool Reporter Kevin Sites following a group of Marines in Iraq
- Filmed a video sequence that shows a squad of Marines finding a room of wounded
insurgents inside a Mosque. The Mosque which was a former terrorist stronghold and was the
source of heavy enemy fire. In his report, Sites said the man who was shot again didn't
appear to be armed or threatening in any way, with no weapons visible
in the Mosque. Kevin Sites said three other insurgents wounded in the Mosque were also
shot again by the Marines. (Note Sites comments are his personal observations and not
fully factual, yet he couldn't wait to gather all the facts. He rushed to Air the
Video with NBC and GEs approval.)
FACT: The tape shows a Marine shouting out that one of the wounded
snipers is playing “possum.”
FACT: The snipers were left in the mosque by a previous squad of Marines
to await medical evacuation or burial. The second Marine squad did not know that. The
commanders had not evacuated the snipers because US troops were still under fire.
FACT: From Arab News - A colonel who recently returned from his second
tour of duty in Iraq, told Arab News the Marine in question was wounded in the
face the previous day; and that a Marine in the same unit had been killed
a day earlier, and five others wounded, as they tended to the booby trapped dead body of an insurgent.
FACT: NBCs footage of the shooting airs continuously on Al-Jazeera
television, a Qatar-based satellite station saying the U.S. Marine killed an "UNARMED
MAN" in a Holy Mosque.
FACT: The Washington Post Headline - Video shows Marine killing unarmed man
FACT: The incident reported by NBC is causing major political problems for the
government of Prime Minister Ayad Allawi and his U.S. backers at a time when Iraqi
authorities are seeking to contain a backlash among Sunnis.
FACT: Commanders in Iraq said wounded enemy have detonated grenades or
conceal hidden firearms when U.S. troops approach them. If the man made the slightest move
"they would be justified in shooting him." “They use bodies as booby traps
all the time,” said a Marine colonel, who spoke anonymously. “They wait until
Marines are close, then they detonate themselves. From what I hear, the unit didn’t
know those guys were supposed to be there.
FACT: Legal distinctions are unlikely to carry much weight among many
Iraqis, especially Sunnis already angry over the Fallujah offensive. Iraqi Interior
Minister Falah Hassan al-Naqib, himself a Sunni, said that although "killing a
wounded person is rejected by us," Fallujah militants were "killers and
criminals" who committed brutal acts.
FACT: Close to 10 percent of the Terrorists in the combat zones are
Non-Iraqi. They are made up of Al Queda, Osama Bin Laden Loyalists, Iranian, Syrian and
assorted Islamic Fascists. Saddam’s regime had prepared special units for waging
urban guerrilla warfare long before the US-led invasion in 2003. Those units have now been
activated throughout the Sunni Triangle.
FACT: Iraq Anti War Critics are drooling at the prospects of another Abu
Ghraib-like military fiasco. YET, John Kerry got a Silver Star with Combat V - for Valor-
for committing the same sort of "atrocity." In fact, the February 1969 incident
was considered by Kerry supporters to be his finest hour. Patrolling the Bay Hap River,
Kerry and his crew discovered they were about to be ambushed by a Viet Cong soldier who
had just popped up at the shoreline with a loaded rocket launcher in his hands. With the
VC about to fire, Kerry crew mate Thomas Bellodeau shot and wounded the attacker, saving
the entire boat. Only then did Kerry leap to the shore to chase the wounded enemy down -
finishing him off behind a hootch. When critics suggested that Kerry's actions that day
were something less than heroic, they were hooted down by the press. Certainly the
as-yet-unnamed Marine in Fallujah deserves, if not the Silver Star, the same slack the
press cut Kerry.
FACT: NBC did
not air this video - Margaret Hassan taken hostage by Iraqi terrorists has been
murdered, after analysis of a video which showed a masked gunman shooting a blindfolded
woman in the head.The video, which emerged a week ago but was kept secret, has been
studied by experts, and both British diplomats and relatives of Mrs Hassan said they now
believed it showed the 59-year-old and that she had been killed. Mrs Hassan was born in
Dublin and held British, Irish and Iraqi citizenship. She married an Iraqi and lived in
Baghdad for 30 years. For the past 10 years she had run Care International's operations in
the country and was involved in important work in sanitation and medical aid.
FACT: NBC did
not air the videos of the
beheading of American Civilians, South Korean Civilians, British Civilians

end of their broadcasts
FACT: Some of
Fallujah’s residents spoke with relief knowing they had survived and would no longer
have to live with the mujahedeen, others spoke about the US forces and the armed men who
have ruled the city with a gun since April.
Sitting inside a villa with his wife, their baby and eight other family members, Adnan
Hadi explained how he had tried but was unable to escape Fallujah before the assault
started. “We were very frightened,” he said. “If the Americans had not come
today we would have run out of food.”
