(1) -INTRODUCTION
It's all over. It was all about Parental Rights. The kid belongs with his father in Cuba. Does that sound familiar? How many people who used those words did any serious research? The main-stream media in the U.S. censored the critical information by their consistent silence. The majority of Americans that were polled are too busy with jobs, family and activities to explore below the surface of the Elian Gonzalez case. The public was not well informed on this case.
     Contradicting the Castro regime is very similar to contradicting the Clinton/Gore regime. In Cuba, a reporter submitting the questions you are about to read, would be soon sleeping in a jail cell.
     In Clinton's America, some reporters have a choice. A shotgun aimed at you, as you are forced to stay on the ground and are basically shut-up. You are hit on the back of the head with the butt of a weapon. Or a reporter can have a boot in the back, their camera under them and a submachine gun over them.  Those three scenarios are fact...and are in the book.
     After you have read the book, this area of fact, documentation, opinion and speculation will be easier to understand. Many times in the book I mentioned the fact that the Cuban media is state owned and controlled. As you read between their accounts you will be able to sort the facts from the lies and disinformation.
     I presented some facts from the book on the internet in "Elian Chat Rooms." Just go to Yahoo chat rooms and look them up yourself.  A variety of people decided that they did not have to explore any of the facts. They instead, bombarded my e-mail with messages full of profanities and personal threats. Many also included foul racial slurs on Cuban Americans, and Elian in particular. Since they couldn't debate the facts intelligently they resorted to insults and threats.  Remember, no one can  hide and remain anonymous on the internet, when it comes to legal action.  Just for the record, my attorney has copies of all the e-mails that warrant legal action. That is the purpose of the Members Area...to reveal information to those truly interested in searching without bias. Also, to limit access to those that want to silence the truth...or at least distort it.
     The internet is a world wide message board and the Cuban propaganda machine is making good use of it. Some of them are getting a taste of real freedom of speech and expression for the first time. I pray this example of true freedom helps them to lobby for their own freedom in Cuba.

The issue of whether Juan Miguel is the biological father is still critical. Lazaro and Elizabeth are dead. Elian needs a loving father now, and Juan Miguel has always said he loved Elian. I wish him well. I mean no disrespect to Juan Miguel. If he is truly the biological father it is a simple matter to prove with an independent medical source.  When I talked or wrote messages about other parts of the case... that were much more profound and important, many people had little knowledge and simply said, "The child belongs in Cuba with his father." When I brought up the 7 miscarriages, divorce, separation and Lazaro...many wanted to learn more.
     If highlighting the biological father issue gets more people to read and research other parts of the case, then we will all be living in a more informed and free society. We can then complain more loudly with the facts that we have when the Clinton Administration abuses the power that "we the people" temporarily gave them. The biological father issue is still very important to review. The disinformation, outright lies, missing and made up records permeate throughout this case on this issue... and many others.

     Also go to any search engine and simply type in the word, Elian. You will find hundreds of web sites, chat rooms, articles and documents. Send Elian home, let Elian stay and Elian parodies are just a few. You will be amazed at the emotions, opinions and information that underlies this case. (2) - WHY THE 7 MISCARRIAGES?  WAS JUAN MIGUEL THE BIOLOGICAL FATHER? CUBAN MEDICAL RECORDS.  EXPLORING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ELIZABETH AND LAZARO.

Granma Internacional Digital bragged in print about how Elizabeth was finally able to bear a child after suffering seven miscarriages. One of their quotes is, "The painstaking work of the Cuban Revolution in the care of expectant mothers made the miracle of Elian's birth possible. In case you have any doubts here is Medical History 1640, written up after Elizabeth's and Juan Miguel's first genetic counseling appointments."
The medical history goes into detail about the couple but does NOT state the blood type for Elizabeth or Juan. (I failed to mention that in the book) It only states the kariotypes in peripheral blood as being 46XX and 46XY (normal) for both of them.
Exposure to virus, NO.   Infection or other diseases, NO.
The record says, "TOXOPLASMOSIS studies: YES, in all pregnancies. NO PREVIOUS TREATMENT WITH ANY MEDICATION."

On March 23, 1989, Elizabeth suffered another miscarriage and the Cuban specialists set up the next appointment for April 5, 1989.

The Cuban media claimed, Elizabeth was finally able to bear a child, due to the fine work of Cuba's Free Healthcare system. Juan and Elizabeth rigorously followed the specialists instructions until the pregnancy FIVE YEARS LATER.

Elizabeth and Juan Miguel were divorced in 1991. Elian was born in 1993.

The record says, "Previous TOXOPLASMOSIS studies, YES, in all pregnancies. No previous treatment with any medication. No INFECTIONS."

From Mosby's Medical Dictionary - TOXOPLASMOSIS - A common INFECTION with the protozoan intracellular parasite toxoplasma gondii, animals acquire the organism by eating infected birds and mice and can transmit it to humans. Human ingestion of inadequately cooked meat containing the cysts is another cause.
     Diagnosis is made by demonstrating rising antibody titers or immunoflourescent antibody tests. Interventions - Combinations of sulfonamides with pyrimethamine are recommended as treatment, possibly reducing the severity of ILLNESS IN THE FETUS.
     Considerations - All meat should be heated to at least 140 degrees to kill this parasite.
PREGNANT women who are not immune should not handle animal litter or feces, in any way.

The Cuban media said many times, "The seven miscarriages are the reason for the divorce."
It appears that the lack of proper medical diagnosis and treatment by the Free Cuban Healthcare system was the reason for the miscarriages and divorce.
Just for the record....the Cuban trade embargo does not stop humanitarian aid, such as shipments of medicine. If the embargo was somehow related to this tragic medical incident, then the U.S.should develop a means, to guarantee Cuban citizens actually get the medical treatment and aid that is sent for them. There are many reports that the relief sent to the Cuban citizens is first filtered and pilfered by Cuban officials. Medication made in Cuba is exported.  The average Cuban has a difficult time getting a simple aspirin.  Foreigners have the rights to medical care not available to Cuban citizens.

Update Sept 20th 200 – At a luncheon meeting at the Heritage Foundation two Cuban doctors accused the Castro regime of offering tourists and members of the Cuban communist hierarchy better health care than the average Cuban and said that was the main reason they defected to the United States. Drs. Leonel Cordova Rodriquez and Noris Pena Martinez were highllighted in the book. They defected in May while on a Cuban medical mission to Zimbabwe. After nearly being sent back to Cuba, imprisoned in Zimbabwe and sent to Sweden, the doctors finally reached Miami and are political refugees in the U.S. Rodriguez said, "Foreign tourists and Cuban revolutionary leaders enjoy the best medical attention and resources in well-equipped hospitals but it's very different when the Cuban people have to go to the hospital. "

Neither physician believes that lifting the U.S. economic embargo against Cuba will help the people of Cuba. The Cuban people, whether there is an embargo or not, will suffer the consequences," Martinez said. Rodriguez said: "The U.S. embargo on Cuba does not affect the people but directly affects the Castro regime. "Any kind of deal with Fidel Castro is time wasted. Neither food nor medicine is going to reach the people. There are many organizations in Cuba that it will reach to provide the people such items, but Castro will not allow it."

I spent weeks looking for Lazaro Rafael Munero Garcia's medical records and blood type.
The only thing available are hundreds of pages criticizing his character and life style. Every single Cuban citizen that was interviewed said, Lazaro was a bad influence on Elizabeth. There is not one complimentary word for Lazaro.

Lazaro is accused of running a refugee smuggling operation between the U.S. and Cuba. He was arrested for smuggling and served 8 weeks in a Cuban prison, and then was put under house arrest. If you search Cuban records you will find mention that smuggling people is usually punishable by 30 years to life in prison. Was Lazaro sharing the profits with Cuban officials?

The picture painted by the Cuban propaganda pens is that Lazaro was always in fights from grammar school all the way through adulthood and was proficient in Judo. He was a man who lived off women and abused them. They say Lazaro rarely worked. If you read every record, you can pick out the half dozen hotels where Lazaro worked. One of them is the Paradiso Punta Arenas Hotel....the same hotel that Elizabeth worked at.

LAZARO HAD..... AT LEAST ONE SON.
     Dayan Oceguera Hernandez of Cardenas said, "I began a relationship with Lazaro Munero Garcia in 1993 that lasted until 1996. We had a child that we named Javier Alejandro Munero. The relationship failed because of Lazaro's violent behavior." (there should be a medical record and blood type, but I could not locate it.)
There is more testimony from other women, "I (name omitted) born in Cardenas employed as a chambermaid in the hotel (name is omitted) had an intimate relationship with Lazaro Munero Garcia from 1991 to 1994. It ended because he was socially irresponsible."
More testimony with names and information (omitted) was not worth mentioning. Anyone could have written it.
Why did it take from 3 to 4 years for these two women to break off the relationships, if Lazaro was so violent and socially irresponsible? The Cuban media says, Lazaro threatened them with violence. They also repeat often that he threatened and forced Elizabeth and Elian to take their tragic journey. If all that is true, as reported by the state run and owned media, then the criminal justice system in Cuba didn't care about the continuous criminal behavior of Lazaro. There are no reports of Lazaro being imprisoned of even cautioned for those offenses.

The Cuban media says, "In February of 1997, three years after Elian was born, Juan Miguel and Elizabeth decided to separate for good." They had been DIVORCED since 1991.
Lazaro is FIRST mentioned  having a relationship with Elizabeth AFTER the separation in 1997.
Lazaro and Elizabeth both worked at one time for the Paradiso Punta Arenas Hotel.

Lazaro's relationship to Elizabeth and Elian is described in many ways from Cuban and U.S. sources. Lazaro is most often referred to as... Elizabeth's boyfriend and lover by the main-stream media, the Clinton Administration and friends, and the Cuban media. Sometimes used - Elian's step-father and Elizabeth's common law husband.

Juan Miguel arrived in the U.S. with his new wife Nelsy Carmenati and an infant named Hianny. The press said that an 8 year-old step-brother of Elian's remained in Cuba. If he were allowed to make the trip, would it have been easier for Juan Miguel and Nelsy to seek asylum?

The 8 year-old was under the security and attention of Cuban officials, along with other relatives. Who was the biological father of the infant and the 8 year old?  When were Juan Miguel and Nelsy married? There is no information concerning those simple questions. The continuous distortion of records and lack of independent verification brings up many questions. Questions easily answered. And someday they finally be brought to the light of truth.

It's obvious that the 8 year-old was born two years before Elian. He was conceived during the time Elizabeth and Juan Miguel were divorced. According to the Cuban media, Elian's new mother is 22 years old. Nelsy would have been pregnant with the 8 year-old, around the age of 13.

If you were the father of a 5 year old, would you rush to his side to see him? Would you be permitted?

Soon after Elian arrived in the U.S., the INS requested an interview with Juan Miguel. They offered Juan a visa to come to the U.S. for the interview, and to see Elian.  Juan refused the invitation.
(Read the testimony in the book concerning the distortions and lies by Juan's "paid for Attorney" Greg Craig. Craig said," it was very difficult for Juan to get INS permission to come to the U.S." That distortion was soundly rebutted by counsel for the Miami relatives with the INS's own documentation. You will find the full transcript in the book within the 11th circuit court testimony. Also, Juan's refusal to come to the U.S. for over 4 months is detailed there.)

Was Juan under pressure to stay put, until the paternal and biological paperwork was completed and Clinton and Castro had time to set up their plans for the case?

On December 13th 1999, the INS had the first of two interviews with Juan Miguel in Cuba...not in the U.S., as was allowed.

The following statement was issued on the same day. Ricardo Alarcon, President of the Cuban National Assembly and the principal negotiator with the INS and the Clinton Administration said, "The PAPERWORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED in demonstrating Juan Miguel's PATERNITY of Elian. Once the formality has been completed to discover what the whole world knows, that he is Elian's father, it only remains to apply U.S. law, Cuban law and International law which stipulate that a deserted child should be returned to his father."

Parental was substituted by BIOLOGICAL a few weeks later. The first mention of Juan Miguel being the Biological father was at the second interview with the INS in Cuba on December 31st.

One of the quotes in the book from the INS is, "We determined by his demeanor that Juan Miguel is the biological father." When I read that line, I scratched my bald head and for the first time really focused on that word and issue. Remember, the INS made that statement...not me.

During the December 31st meeting the INS asked for documents. Castro said, "The INS requested seven documents and were handed 18, confirming the father's PATERNITY and Elian's relationship to him." Fidel was proud to produce more records than they asked for.

Who prints the marriage certificates, birth certificates and other documents in a Communist country and completely controls the content? A legitimate question is, just how valid are those documents? Do you think the INS inspector could just go to a government office in Cuba and pull up the records he needed? You ask for documents from Cuba...then they are sometimes given... but under their terms and time frame.

On January 3, 2000, the Department of Justice, issued a brief.  Bo Cooper, the general counsel reported the following: "Juan Miguel Gonzalez-Quintana has submitted numerous documents establishing that he is the father of Elian Gonzalez. Because the child was born out of wedlock, some have questioned whether this fact affects the father's legal rights. Under Cuban law, however, parental rights are unaffected by questions of legitimacy. Refer to Constitution of Cuba, Article 37.

There is no mention of medical documentation to establish a biological relationship, even if it the ink was still wet on the documents. Bo Cooper is highlighted in the book as one of the Clinton/Reno representatives offering advice to Cuban officials concerning the matter.  It was only revealed after a subpoena from judicial watch forced the information to become public.

I have tried to respect the relationship between the Miami relatives, Juan Miguel, Nelsy and Elian. I especially desired to respect Elizabeth and Lazaro's memory. I never received a reply from the dozens of messages and questions I sent to the Miami relatives.

The Clinton and Castro regime thought they supplied all the answers, yet they actually brought up many more questions. Simple questions...but no simple answers.

The phrase used so often by the Clinton and Castro regime and all their mouthpieces, along with many unknowing Americans was, "IT WAS ALL ABOUT PARENTAL RIGHTS." Right?... Wrong!
Everyone just assumed Juan Miguel was the father, yet the records are as questionable as the the rest of this case. It is easy enough to clear up the simple question that Juan is Elian's biological father.
The more important parts of this case are abuse of executive power. The Clinton/Gore Administration was willing to break and change the rules of law to suit their agenda.  Then they kept repeating to the media that they upheld "The Rule of Law."
