A 19-year-old Latino gang member was charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Jamiel Shaw Jr, a black Los Angeles high school football star. Pedro Espinoza, described by law enforcement as an 18th Street gang member was arrested in connection with Jamiel's murder. The 18th street gang is comprised mostly of Latino illegal aliens. The killing of Shaw comes amid an outbreak of gang-related violence between Latino and Black gangs that has victimized schoolchildren and teens around the city. Police said two Hispanic gang members in a car had pulled up next to Shaw, asked if he belonged to a gang, and then shot him when he didn't answer.
